Whether it’s keeping cool at a spring garden lawn occasion or getting glam at a glitzy evening affair, we’ve put together five outfit ideas to help you nail the perfect look — no matter the wedding type, season or celebration.

What To Wear To A Spring Garden Or Lawn Wedding

There’s just something about a spring or summer celebration that pulls us towards florals and foliage — and, in our humble opinion, sustainable label Reformation does greens best. We love the brighter splashes of yellow and pinks on this forest green, a deeper shade that we think is what keeps the floral print dress from looking too casual.

There’s also a sense of elegance coming from the sensible above-ankle length, small peplum detail, mermaid tail, bustier and scallop edge lace trim. For a day event, pair with a pastel yellow pair of strappy heels (or beige!) and whichever metal suits your undertone best (we’ve gone with gold here but you can always opt for white-gold or bronze!).

Balmy summer evenings call for a little skin! If you’re attending an outdoor affair in the warmer months, go for something with a little structure in a softer or brighter colour — light, but not white. That way you can stay cool but look sophisticated and put together.

Why do local sustainable fashion brands matter? Well, Hong Kong generates an average of 392 tonnes of textile waste per day into landfills, resulting in a rise of 32.4 percent over the past ten years. It’s clear that the fast-fashion crisis is still alive and kicking. So, what can we do about it?

While shopping and sustainability can seem slightly counterintuitive (we’d still recommend buying secondhand and vintage where possible!), you’ll be pleased to learn that it’s possible to build yourself a new wardrobe and still be environmentally conscious. Many local sustainable fashion brands in Hong Kong are working to bridge that disconnect, be it through their commitment to using deadstock fabrics (leftover and unwanted materials that would otherwise go to waste) or the adoption of a slow production model that elongates the durability of the fabric.
